This has been quite the ride! I originally created this web page for everybody interested in the village of Banitsa in Aegean Macedonia (which is now unjustfully considered the village of Vevi in Greece). Whether you were a descendent or simply curious about the village, this website is here for you. Then things started getting a little hectic. The so-called "Allilovoithiticos Syllogos Vevis and Ladies Society" published a 2002 calendar with advertisers. I wrote a little blurb on what supporting this organization indirectly means along with a list of names of the advertisers and soon all hell broke loose! Wow, did I not expect this to cause such a controversy! People were complaining! Photocopies of the web page were being photocopied and an "emergency Vevi society" meeting was being held. "Lele majko, what are we going to do with this Matsedonian descendent who is telling the truth ... somebody might find out the truth behind our lies?", is what I thought might be asked at such
