2003 Banitza Benevolent Society Valentine's Dance (Toronto, Canada)
The annual Banitza Benevolent Society held their annual Valentine's Day Dance again at the Latvian Centre along with crowd-pleasers "Boys from Buf Orchestra". Although it didn't garner the turnout of Miss Valentines contestants of recent years, it was packed with people and dancing all night long. Click here for pictures.

Unlike February 15 of 2002 during last year's Banitza Valentines Dance, this Feburary 15th of 2003 was as frigid as can be! The Canadian cold spell during the winter of 2002-2003 has produced several periods of -30C temperatures with wind chill. But that was not to stop the excitement once Chris and the Boy from Buf did what they do best - sviri and igraj !

This year's event was preceded by an unfortunate incident in the Ziskov family which forced them to miss this annual tradition. Our sympathies go out to the Ziskov family for their terrible loss. "Bog da go prosti".

With the cancellation of the 2002 annual Banitza Benevolent Society Christmas dance, the crowd turnout at this year's Valentines dance was one of the greatest in numbers. Banitsa was not the only village with former inhabitants in attendance.
